Even signing in was interesting! You don't dissappoint. As a busy mom you are all I have time to browse. I do the scorch thing ALL THE TIME. Leaving pans and grills on the lawn overnight has helped, but pot-scorch is too deep. Something about the enzymes??? A bee tool is a good scraper, a chisel does less damage. Other than that, I only use fruitsack mesh scrubbies (free). Best wishes!

Greetings from Hodding's former editor at Gourmet. He can spell--he really, really can--but when he gets revved up and in major story-telling mode, then all bets are off. Hodding, I can't begin to tell you how much I miss working with you! And I can't wait to read your book. Let's catch up soon. Happy hols to all....

hahaha I like how we all post about missing your copy editor. Have you considered guest-posts as a way to entertain your reading masses while you hole up in a cave somewhere to generate print? Maybe a Child-of-Hodding or Carter-Wife post? It may keep the readership up a bit. I'd volunteer, but Boston frugality consists of over-eating at company sponsored lunches and avoiding T-stops near Newbury St.

Thanks for the update. If you use your crock pot for future applesauce endeavors, it'll save you clean up and you don't have to keep an eye on it. If Gwyneth's suggestion doesn't work, try sprinkling dishwasher detergent into the pans and adding boiling water. Let it sit overnight and they should wipe clean. Good Luck!

Okay, your faithful readers will put up with your negligence of us since you are doing something that will put money in the frugal pot. However, you are my distraction from doing useful things like studying for my finals this week!
Okay, finish that book and start posting again, post haste!:)
By the way, I was going to give you the same advice about cleaning the pots but Gwyneth beat me to it. I didn't even know that Gwyneth Paltrow was one of your fans!
I sort of miss your editor...typos aren't all that funny, don't you have spell check on your blog host site?

Hodding, your typos this time are hilarious. I bet your copy editor will have a ball with your book. Thanks, Gwyneth, for the cleaning tip; I did the same thing with apples to my pot. Multi-tasking is overrated!

Good luck with the book Hodding. I grew up with a writer and know the anguish of deadlines. I'll be patiently waiting (maybe not very patiently, but waiting) for your return and will sign up for an advance copy when your book comes out. Happy Winter!
